Secure parts of London are desired by British buyers.
When looking to purchase new
residential property, there is nothing Britons like more than safety and security.
Ed Mead, director of Douglas & Gordon, has spoken out about the types of places that snapping up real estate is likely to work out for the best.
In London, he said it is typically areas that attracted the English people who were priced out of the city centre when foreigners began securing much of the property in the late 2000s.
"Those are the next areas that people want to live [in] and the foreigners followed as well because it's where most people they lived alongside liked to live," Mr Mead explained.
He added that spots with strong Victorian or Edwardian housing provide the safety many buyers desire.
London Central Portfolio this week revealed that prime residential property within the capital tends to hold its value well, as proved by the 26 per cent rise in house prices in the City of Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea since February 2009.
